This Drawing took me 2 hours and 20 minutes to draw. I chose this very building by my house as it gives a right balance between man made material and nature as well as it is a good example of 2 point perspective, the points being mid-way on both sides of my A4 page. By using different textures I brought this drawing to life, the impressionist technique allow me to save time and also make my drawing look more professional. Use of vertical lines allowing me to show that the church is not level with the foreground. Difference in tonal value allowed certain parts of my drawing to stand out from the rest.
The best part of this drawing I believe is the balanced tonal value, I have used just the right amount of contrast between light and dark.
This A3 Composition Drawing took me 2 and a half hours. The rules of third could be applied to this drawing as the focal point would be the center of the image, with the grapes being the foreground, candle stand the mid ground and the mug and flower pot the background although it doesn't look very clear. I chose to use oil pastel for this particular drawing as I thought it'd be the right media to show different surfaces. In this drawing almost all of my objects are slightly reflective with the cloth being the least reflective one. All the objects have a smooth surface which causes them to give specular reflection. This drawing also demonstrates some balanced tonal value, showing that the light is on the right hand side causing the dark regions to be on the left.
The part that stands out to me about this drawing is the smooth polished surfaces of each object and how the light bounces off from different surfaces with some allowing more light to bounce off than the other.
This A3 drawing took me about an hour and a half. In this drawing I have shown some the basic human hand and foot anatomy, showing the bone and muscle structures. By using the right tonal value I was able to make some of the bone structures such as Calcaneus and Madial Malleolus stand out. Due to the posture of the foot you are also able to see some muscle contraction as I bend my toe backwards, by doing this I was able to see much more of the bone and muscle structures. Using side of the pencil turned out very effective in showing muscle as you can see around the thumb.
After trying out different poses I chose this particular one as it gave me a better sense gesture and structure.
